Ridiculous Brits
Friday, February 6th, 2009So Jeremy Clarkson is being forced ‘off-air’ until he apologises for calling Gordon Brown a “one-eyed Scottish idiot” and accusing him of lying. I kind of thought fair enough, if you are a TV presenter, you should be a little more careful of what you say and yes, you probably should apologise for making a comment like that. That was, until I read the absurd news article about it…. I quote:
“It is an absolute outrage of the worst kind. Disabled people will be up in arms about it, Scottish people will be angry – and it should concern all of us that the prime minister has been accused of lying.”
No, you ridiculous, conceited British IDIOTS. An absolute outrage of the worst kind can be equated to people having their limbs cut off with a machete because they are the wrong height, as happens in places like Rwanda and Burundi. Or when people in this country are lent hundreds and thousands of pounds in debt, with the general pattern of, ‘the more debt you get into, the more ‘credit’ we’ll give you’. A year later, with £80K in unpaid debts, they declare themselves bankrupt, only to be given credit again within a year. Is that not an outrage? We wonder why we have a recession.
Disabled people might be up in arms (if they have arms, is that not a little ‘disable-ist’?) as the comment about Gordon’s eye was uncalled for. However, what I don’t buy into, is that “Scottish people will be angry”. Of course they will be – they are ‘fiery Scots’ (ok ok I am being cheeky). Why on earth should there be (predicted) the uprising of an entire country, because someone was insulted and described as “Scottish”?? HE IS SCOTTISH!!! If someone called someone an “english idiot” I wouldn’t blink!! Think how many people call me a “dumb blonde” over the course of a single day!! It is really not worthy of being called ‘outrage’.”Idiot” is hardly the most offensive term one could muster either.
The last part is hilarious… “It should concern all of us that the prime minister has been accused of lying”. Yes, I am very concerned. If I got REALLY concerned every time a politician told a lie (or rather stated an inaccuracy) then I think I would be having a serious meltdown. As it happens, I am only having a mild one.
The most ironic thing about that statement is that the biggest bunch of lying pikeys out there are journalists and spin doctors, who have the capacity to absolutely ruin people’s lives. These are the people who ‘state inaccuracies’ (whoops! But hey it made a great story and sold millions of papers) about politics, about families, celebrities and anyone else who should make a scandal.
Clarkson? Don’t get too big for your boots on air. Apologise and have done with it. Media? Shut up. Everyone else? Laughing, probably… In the manner that one does when one really shouldn’t but feels tickled.
