It is with great sadness that I give tribute today to a musical legend – John Martyn, who has died, aged 60.  The cause of death is, as yet, unconfirmed.  He was the performer of one of my favourite songs – May You Never (below).

Like many musicians, John Martyn spent a proportion of his life battling with drugs and alcohol, whilst writing fantastic music.  What a shame that drugs and alcohol so often sit alongside creativity.  God is the creator and therefore the ultimate creative – we must all endeavour to draw our creativity from Him and not from worldly means, which can so often lead to destruction.  Rest in Peace John, thank you for some awesome music.
