Beautiful…
Thursday, March 22nd, 2007I first heard this song by Rita springer at Mel’s Sudeley Castle gig. Stumbling across the lyrics today reminded me of what a great song it is…
I don’t understand Your ways
Oh but I will give You my song
Give You all of my praise
You hold on to all my pain
With it You are pulling me closer
And pulling me into Your ways
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Now around every corner
And up every mountain
I’m not looking for crowns
Or the water from fountains
I’m desperate in seeking, frantic believing
That the sight of Your face
Is all that I need
I will say to You
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
It’s gonna be worth it
It’s gonna be worth it
It’s gonna be worth it all
I believe this
It’s gonna be worth it
It’s gonna be worth it
It’s gonna be worth it all
I believe this
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
You’re gonna be worth it
You’re gonna be worth it
You’re gonna be worth it all
I believe this
You’re gonna be worth it
You’re gonna be worth it
You’re gonna be worth it all
I believe this

The Steve Clarke Appreciation Society
Wednesday, March 21st, 2007
A society that is long overdue… It is amazing what you can find when searching for Uni projects on Google Images. I was looking, believe it or not, for a pair of Clarks Doodles (remember those canvas shoes you had as a kid that were like the coolest thing ever??) Instead I found a tribute page to Steve Clark(e)!! And we all thought he was a student pastor at Trinity. It is a peculiar world.
Steve if you are reading this, I’m impressed.

Today I was cross. Well, not CROSS exactly, just incredulous. Have you ever been in a shop (this happened to be a charity shop) and someone has an opinion that is just far too loud and embarrassing? The lady behind the counter today was having a go at another poor lady because she’d bought something from Primark. I pricked up my ears because actually most of my (and JT’s) clothes come from Primark at the moment and it is actually really good, really cheap and vaguely ethical (check their web site).
Here was this lady saying “Oh you wouldn’t buy stuff from PRIMARK?!! Have you felt it though?? Cheap tat! Oh it’s awful!! Who would buy anything from there?? Nice charity shop jumper that I’m wearing look, nice quality, not like that cheap rubbish”. A million thoughts raced through my head. Thankfully these words didn’t escape through my mouth.
A few brave onlookers commented that they bought a lot of clothes from Primark and particularly childrens’ clothes which are just as good as baby NEXT etc. She protested violently and I suddenly felt a little bit small in my £6 Primark coat. The child in me wanted to tell her that she looked like a sack of old potatoes in her “nice charity shop jumper” but I didn’t think that Jesus would have said such a thing. I paused for a moment wondering quite what Jesus would have said in a situation like this and then chickened out. I felt quite sure that He wouldn’t say “Oh aren’t you just the most adorable little black hole of need?” or anything else that your brain comes out with when the pastoral gear stick hits ‘reverse’ in a random moment of mutiny. Five people shuffled out of the shop in a slightly awkward fashion. Noone bought anything.
Le monstre!
Tuesday, March 20th, 2007
For sale: A monster. It is a finest quality IKEA large cupboardy type job with a wardrobe (2 doors, rail and shelf inside) and a cupboard with shelves (quite large, ideal for towels, bedding etc). Under this cupboard are two drawers. £45 and a large car and it’s yours! Thought I’d list it here before it goes to eBay, as obviously the buyer will have to collect (imagine posting that!) We are moving as you will know, and bought this due to the lack of storage in our flat. We don’t anticipate being able to have it in the place that we move to, wherever that may be!

Monday, March 19th, 2007…Where it’s at. Even Trinity Cheltenham has a group on there along with “Adrian have a nice day if you can star of Wilko’s appreciation society” which I have refused to join despite serious temptation because it is mean.
As an aside: here’s a goodun’… “and Jesus said to John, come forth and you shall receive eternal life… but John came fifth and won a toaster” – love it! Only, I can’t remember where Jesus said this
POOdles
Monday, March 19th, 2007Look out for them on the shelf… A new module launch today with the challenge to design a product/packaging/advertising methods for a product that you wouldn’t buy. Ideas such as tartan paint, rat tail soup, stick on zits, e-numbers for kids etc came into the equation, along with a few more rude items before each person had to settle on an idea. After much deliberation over whether or not to do “trapped wind” (comes in a pressurized canister, depress button lightly or with great gusto depending upon the sort of relief required!) I decided that spending five weeks on such a task might drive me mad, so I came up with the idea of POOdles.
What is a POOdle? It is an ingenious device to encourage children to wash their hands after going to the toilet (especially if they have been playing with poo! As you do.) It is a dog-shaped soap dispenser, where you will press down the tail and hey presto! Out comes a trail of soap from the nether regions! I did consider doing a foam soap variety that comes out of the dog’s mouth, but I am not sure yet. I will show you when it is done, as I have no idea how to illustrate it!! the logo is supposed to be brown and blue, but I think it may come out wrong on here…

Today JT is 31 years young
We are just about to go for lunch with my family and JT’s Dad for a mother’s day/birthday meal at the Coalhouse Inn, in Apperley. They do an awesome ‘steak on a stone’, where you actually have to cook your own steak! However we are probably not having steak as JT is having a few boys round later for a trains party where they will be eating curry, drinking beer and playing with their train sets!! Cute
Happy Birthday JT!! I love you xxx
